In the foreground, shallow water washes over a field of dark rocks, leaving swirls of white foam that lead the eye up toward the lighthouse. The sky is heavy with moody grey cloud, and a grainy, textured finish gives the whole scene a weathered, aged look. Tones range from deep charcoal to bright foam white.
