A dense cluster of pink orchid flowers crowns a tall, upright stem at the top of the page. Each bloom has narrow rose-pink petals and a deep red lip with a yellow throat. Fine green stalks fan out between the flowers, and two faint pencil-outline leaves sit behind the cluster on either side.
Below, the plant is laid out like a specimen study. Two pale, ribbed bulbs are drawn in grey line with a green base, and a thick rhizome curves along the bottom with thin white roots. Two bright green leaves unfurl at right. The caption reads "LÆLIA SUPERBIENS" in small capitals on a cream ground, with a plate number in the top corner.
