About Pinnacles Desert Sunset
A tall limestone pinnacle stands left of centre, its pitted, weather-eaten surface catching warm light on one side and falling into shadow on the other. Behind it the sand plain runs flat to the horizon, dotted with dozens of smaller spires and low rocks, some sharp and tapered, others worn to rounded stumps. The sun sits right on the skyline at the right, a small white disc inside a band of orange that fades upward through pale gold and turquoise into a deep, clear blue sky.
The mood is quiet and wide open: one weathered stone holding the foreground while the desert empties out behind it under a cooling sky.
Suits a living room with tan leather, jute rugs and timber, or a bedroom in sand and clay tones. The deep blue upper half lifts a white or pale grey wall, while the ochre ground ties in with rattan, linen and terracotta. Also works in a home office or beach house hallway.
