A crowd of red, coral and orange poppies fills the landscape format, their petals melting into one another in soft, wet washes. Dark centres with black speckles sit in several blooms, and a few flowers lean in from the top corners, one with a pale ragged edge.
Green stems, buds and leaves run down the lower half in streaky vertical drips, with yellow and teal pooling between them. The background shifts from deep blue and violet at the top to bare white paper showing at the bottom edge. A small signature sits at lower right.
