About Popsy Cow
A long-horned cow fills the canvas head-on, looking straight out at the viewer. The broad white face is patched with pink, mint, apricot and lilac, with a scatter of small blue-violet dots across the forehead and cheek. The muzzle is painted bright red with a pink upper lip and two dark nostrils. Horns sweep out to both edges, striped in yellow, orange and red, and the ears below them are filled with cross-hatched orange and black marks. The background is a smooth grey-blue wash.
Thick palette-knife strokes build ridges across the brow and around the eyes, while the body at the lower left dissolves into loose red and cream blocks. It is a cheerful, bold portrait with real presence, playful in colour but steady and direct in its gaze.
Works well in a kitchen, dining room or country-style hallway, and suits children's rooms and casual family spaces. The grey-blue background sits easily against white or pale grey walls, and the red muzzle picks up timber furniture, terracotta pots, rattan chairs and simple black-framed prints nearby.
