About Red Rose Dewdrops
A single red rose fills the whole frame, photographed close enough that no stem, leaf or background is visible apart from one dark shadowed gap at the top right. The petals spiral inward from broad outer curves to a tight bud at the centre, slightly left of middle. Colour runs from bright scarlet on the lit upper petals to deep crimson and almost black in the creases and folds where the light drops away.
Hundreds of small water droplets sit across the petal surfaces, catching light as tiny silver and gold points, denser on the flatter outer petals to the right. The petal edges are soft and slightly ruffled, with fine veins visible as darker lines. It is an intimate, saturated image, quiet in composition but strong in colour.
Works above a bed, in a hallway or in a powder room where a single strong colour lifts a plain wall. It suits white, charcoal or warm grey paint and pairs well with black metal frames, linen bedding and dark timber. Good over a dining sideboard beside candles or a vase of fresh flowers.
