A large cross-section of a tree trunk is printed in deep crimson red on a warm tan background. The round shape sits in the upper left and runs off the top and left edges, so only most of the disc is visible. Concentric growth rings circle a centre point just left of the middle.
Cracks radiate from the centre as thin tan lines, some running right out to the rim. The ink is uneven, with speckled gaps and rough, broken edges that look like a relief print taken from real timber. The paper behind is creased and crumpled, with soft folds in the lower right corner.
