About Room for Growth
A deep black field surrounds a tall rectangular panel set slightly right of centre. The panel is divided into three vertical bands. The left band carries a thick burnt-orange arc, ridged with combed lines, curving around a small pale cream disc and set into heavily built-up gold and bronze texture. The middle band is flat gold leaf, scratched with rows of small looping marks like written script. The right band is pale silver-grey, scored with faint interlocking oval shapes. A small signature sits low on the black ground.
The character is quiet and decorative rather than loud: warm metallic surfaces and a single orange curve held inside a large expanse of black, with the raised paint catching light across the ridges.
Works in a formal lounge, entry hall or dining room where dark timber, black joinery or charcoal walls need a warm metallic accent. Pairs with brass lamps, leather seating, cream linen and Persian or jute rugs. The black border reads as a built-in frame, so it hangs well on its own above a sideboard or console.
