A white and charcoal rooster stands in profile facing left, with a red comb, red wattle and a small yellow eye. Its chest and neck feathers are creamy white, while the lower body and wings turn slate black. Long tail feathers arc up to the right in blue-black, and its yellow legs and feet are planted mid-stride near the bottom of the frame.
Behind the bird is a layered background of burnt orange, gold and rust, patched with faded blue squares and lines of old handwriting. Cursive words including "Birchen", "Maran Coq" and "La Ville" run across the scene. A dark navy paisley-style flourish climbs the left edge. The look is a textured, digitally worked illustration with a weathered, printed-paper feel.
