A single rose is shown side-on in an X-ray style image, its petals rendered as thin, see-through layers of grey. The outer petals flare open at the top and curl out to the left and right, while the inner petals fold upward into a tight, tapering centre.
The image is entirely black, grey and white. A dark, grainy mass sits at the base of the bloom where the petals gather, and a smooth grey stem rises from the bottom edge. Fine overlapping lines show through each petal, and the background stays clean white with plenty of empty space around the flower.
