Four cream-white roses sit in the upper half of a tall portrait canvas, each built from thick, swirling layers of pale paint that read as ruffled petals. They are set at different heights and tilt slightly, so the eye zigzags from the far left bloom across to the pair on the right.
Thin dark stems run down through the lower half, crossing near the right edge. The background is scraped and streaky, rust red and burnt orange at the top giving way to muted sage green, with small patches of pale turquoise showing through. A painterly, abstract surface with visible brush and knife marks.
