A single large pear fills most of the square, cropped so its left edge and base run off the canvas. The shape is a flat, soft sage green with no outline or shading, and a thin dark charcoal stem curves up from the top right and leaves the frame.
The surface looks like a relief or block print. Small white flecks and scratches break up the green, clustered on the right shoulder and scattered through the lower half. The background is warm cream with a fine paper grain and faint pale patches in the corners. Only three tones are used: green, cream and charcoal.
