A sailing yacht fills the frame, cropped tight so the cream and white sails rise past the top edge. Fine grey rigging lines cross the sails in long diagonals, and a thin boom reaches out to the right. The sail surfaces are laid down in thick, flat strokes that look like palette-knife work.
The hull below is a busy patch of rust red, ochre, olive and teal, broken into blocky marks. A white bow wave kicks up against soft blue water streaked with violet and small touches of red. A dark headland sits at the right edge, and the sky is a muted blue-grey behind the sails.
