A single sailboat sits right of centre, its two sails leaning into the wind. The mainsail and headsail are built from cream, grey and pale gold strokes, with a dark navy band near the foot of the rear sail. A thin dark line of rigging runs from the mast tip down to the right.
The sky and water are worked in loose, scraped layers of cobalt, turquoise and white. Vertical drips run through the sky, and pale clouds are dragged across it in dry streaks. A low brown-gold shoreline sits on the horizon, and below it the deep blue water carries warm yellow reflections beneath the hull.
