About Sea Life in Pen VI
A single nautilus shell fills a tall white field, drawn in shades of blue ink and watercolour wash. The outer hood curves up to the top right, deepest cobalt along its ridge and fading to almost white where light falls across the crown. Below it the shell opens into a spiral of chambered segments, each divided by a fine drawn line and shaded from mid blue to dark indigo. The coil tightens to a small centre just right of the middle. A small numeral 6 sits in the lower right corner.
The character is quiet and orderly, closer to a natural history plate than a beach scene. Streaked wash and visible pen lines give the surface a drawn, studied feel against the plain white ground.
Suits coastal and Hamptons style rooms, bedrooms with white or pale linen bedding, and bathrooms or entries where a single blue accent is enough. Pairs naturally with the other numbered shell prints in the series, rattan furniture, blue and white ceramics, and timber console tables.
