A woman in a long red dress and wide pink hat walks along a curved terrace of pinkish paving, holding the hand of a girl in a blue skirt. Two children in red and cream tops run ahead, and a golden dog trails behind. Stone urns overflowing with pink and red blooms stand on balustrade posts either side of the path.
Beyond the iron railing, a calm blue bay holds small sailboats and moored boats beside a village of terracotta roofs, palms and a pale villa with arched windows. Dark hills fade into the distance under a sky of lilac, peach and gold clouds. Red, white, purple and yellow flowers crowd the foreground in the lower right, and white birds flutter near the path.
