A single calla lily rises from the centre of a clean white square. The spathe curls to a fine point at the top right, and its walls are so thin that the darker spadix shows through as a smudged vertical shape inside. The stem thickens and darkens toward the bottom edge.
Three broad leaves surround the flower. One sits low on the left and two overlap on the right, their fine veins visible through the paper-thin tissue. The whole image is in warm sepia, from deep chocolate in the stem to pale tan in the leaf edges. It reads as an X-ray style photograph with a soft, glassy transparency.
