A wooden Adirondack-style chair sits on pale sand, tilted back and facing the water, with a large blue and white umbrella leaning over it. The umbrella fades from deep blue at the edge to creamy white on its sunlit side, and the chair throws a soft brown shadow across the sand.
Beyond the sand the sea is a flat band of turquoise and teal under a dark blue, cloudy sky with a mottled, washed texture. Tufts of dry tan dune grass rise in the foreground corners, framing the scene. The palette is cool blues against warm sand and beige, in a soft, painterly style.
