Dark, rounded boulders sit scattered across a shallow shoreline, with one large rock placed just above centre and a second broad boulder at left. A long exposure has turned the incoming water into soft, milky streaks that wrap around each stone and drift toward the camera.
The sky is the colour source: a band of burning orange sits along the low horizon and fades up into pink and coral streaks of cloud against deep blue-purple. The water picks up lilac and mauve tones from the sky, so the cool foreground contrasts with the warm light. It is a photograph with a calm, slow feel.
