About Silver Curtain
A band of narrow vertical bars runs across the centre of this wide panoramic canvas, rising and falling like a skyline of towers. The bars are painted in pale silver and cool blue-grey, flecked with small dashes of red, orange and yellow that read as lit windows. Behind them the upper half fades into soft mushroom beige and pinkish grey, streaked with fine downward drags of paint. Below, a dark blue-black horizontal band spreads out like water, scored with thin white scratch lines.
The overall feel is quiet and metallic rather than bright, with the tallest silver columns catching the most light at the centre.
Built for a long wall: above a three-seater sofa, a sideboard in a dining room, or a hallway run. The silver, charcoal and blue-grey sit well with grey upholstery, black metal frames, smoked glass and pale timber floors. Works in offices and apartment living rooms where the palette stays cool and restrained. Browse more panoramic wall art, abstract oil paintings, silver and grey art.
