In the foreground, dark rocks stand in shallow water, with a larger cluster on the right and a single boulder at the lower left. Waves curl and break into white foam between them, and wet sand in the bottom half reflects the sky in soft silver and sepia. The toning is muted, a photograph leaning toward grey, blue and brown.
