About Snowy Trees
A steep hillside of pine and fir trees fills the frame, photographed from across a valley. The lower right third holds the closest trees, their dark green needles still visible beneath a light coating of snow, each conifer clearly separated by its pointed crown. Behind and above them the slope recedes into a pale wash of white and grey, where snow and low cloud blur the trees into a soft speckled texture. Drifts of mist curl diagonally across the middle of the image, softening the edge between the two bands of forest.
The tone is quiet and cool, with no sky, horizon or figure to anchor it, just layers of trees fading into weather. It reads as a calm, almost monochrome nature study where the only strong colour is the green of the nearest firs.
Suits bedrooms, living rooms and home offices decorated in white, grey or pale timber. The cool palette sits well with linen bedding, wool throws and brushed nickel or black metal fittings. Pair it with other landscape or botanical prints in green and grey, or hang it alone above a bedhead or sideboard.
