About Marigold Ember Bloom
Bright pools of yellow and orange ink spread across a white ground, running into one another with soft bleeding edges rather than firm outlines. Down the centre a column of warm brown and charcoal grey gathers into a denser mass, with thin trails dripping and branching towards the lower middle. A patch of emerald green sits at the upper right, and a smaller green-yellow note appears near the base. Fine black spatter flicks out from the top right corner, and the white canvas shows through in gaps between the washes.
The character here is loose and liquid: colour behaves as it wants to, pooling, feathering and drying with visible tide lines at the edges of each wash. It reads as warm and energetic without any drawn subject to anchor it.
Suits a living room with white or pale grey walls, a home office above a desk, or a bedroom wall that needs warmth. It works with timber furniture, rattan and linen in a beach house, and sits well beside terracotta pots, brass lamps or a mustard cushion in a neutral room. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
