About Snowbound Fields
A square winter scene split across the middle. The lower half is a snow-covered field built from thick, lumpy white and pale grey paint, applied in raised dabs that catch the light like crusted snow. Above it runs a thin line of bare trees: two taller ones on the left with fine rust-brown branches, then smaller saplings thinning away to the right. Small marks of dull red and blue-grey near the treeline read as a shed or a parked vehicle in the distance.
The top half is an almost empty sky of warm grey and cream, scraped flat with faint square panel marks showing through. It is a quiet, cold painting, more about texture and silence than detail.
Suits calm rooms in neutral palettes: a bedroom above a linen bedhead, a hallway, or a living room with pale oak, wool throws and stone or concrete surfaces. The raised snow texture reads best under a downlight or picture light. Pairs with black-framed photography and soft grey or greige walls.
