Two timber fishing huts stand on tall stilts above the sea, joined by long raised walkways with railings. Crossed diagonal braces fan out beneath the platforms, and a large net frame hangs from the nearest hut on the left. The legs rise from rock and disappear into pale mist, so the structures seem to float.
The photograph is black and white and shot with a long exposure, turning the water into a smooth, soft haze. A band of bright horizon glows behind the huts under a heavy, streaked overcast sky. Dark timber against the pale grey mist gives strong contrast, with the repeated lines of poles and braces forming the geometry of the scene.
