A long timber jetty runs straight out from the bottom edge of the frame toward the horizon, its planks weathered and grey with dark gaps between each board. Near the far end the deck splits into two short side platforms standing on dark timber legs, with water washing around them.
The sea is choppy, with white foam on the wave tops and a murky green-grey tone in the foreground. Heavy clouds fill the upper half, dark at the corners and paler near the horizon. A small vessel sits on the right at the skyline. The muted, faded colour grade gives this photograph a vintage feel.
