A cluster of dark rock pinnacles rises from a steep, grassy hillside on the right, the tallest spire standing upright against the sky. Low sunlight turns the slopes a bright yellow-green, with long shadows pooling in the folds of the hill and scattered stones dotting the ground below the rocks.
The land falls away to a wide, pale loch and a smaller pool of water in the middle distance, with layered blue-grey mountains along the horizon. Bands of long cloud stretch across a deep blue sky, soft and silvery near the horizon. It is a colour photograph with crisp detail from foreground to distance.
