About Sunset in Greece
The composition splits roughly in half. The upper band is sky, worked in short flicking strokes that shift from deep teal at the top corners through softer blue-grey to a wide belt of lemon and butter yellow along the horizon. At the centre sits a small white-hot disc of sun, its glow bleeding outward in pale cream. Below, low hills roll across the full width in rust orange, burnt sienna, ochre and dark chocolate brown, broken by flecks of olive green, mauve and grey.
Everything is built from the same dense, feathered mark, so the sky and the land read as one continuous texture rather than drawn shapes. The character is warm and slightly restless: a familiar sunset scene pushed toward abstraction, where colour and surface matter more than detail.
Warm and easy to live with in a beach house lounge, a bedroom above the bed head, or a dining room where the gold horizon picks up candlelight. Pairs with rattan, linen in oatmeal or rust, terracotta pots and brass lamps. The teal sky also works against cool grey or white walls.
