About Sunset Stag
A stag stands in three-quarter view at the centre of this square artwork, its body filled with horizontal bands of indigo, violet, teal and pale mint that read like layered strips of colour rather than fur. The antlers branch upward into the top third and are rendered in soft yellow-white, partly dissolving into the background. Behind the animal, a washed field of lemon yellow runs down the left edge and across the top, fading into cool grey and cream on the right.
The surface carries scratches, dry-scraped edges and faint drips, giving the whole image a weathered, screen-printed feel. Its character is calm but graphic: a recognisable animal shape built entirely from colour blocks and wear.
Works in a bedroom above a bed head, in a dining room on a pale wall, or in a study with timber furniture. The lemon and indigo pairing sits well with grey linen, rattan and light oak. A square format suits a chimney breast, a hallway end wall, or hanging as a pair with another animal print.
