A single ribbed spiral shell sits at the centre of a square, drawn in fine teal line work with dense hatching along its ridges. The opening curls toward the lower middle, and a solid teal shadow fills the inner whorl, which gives the shell weight against the page.
The background is a warm cream with a faint linen texture, framed by a pale deckled edge and a brown woven border. Soft tan handwritten words are scattered around the shell, including splash, foam, tide, crest, marine, shore, sea shell, ripple, salt, bay and sea. The look is a vintage natural-history illustration.
