About The Papillon
A young woman faces forward, drawn in fine grey pencil-style line work, her hair swept up into loose plaits and twists across the top of the head. Five cobalt blue butterflies with lace-like wing patterning settle over the hair and across her left eye, so only one visible blue eye looks out. Her cheeks carry a soft pink blush and three short blue brushstroke bars sit beneath one cheekbone. A gold drop earring with a blue stone hangs at her ear, and the word PAPILLON is set across the top in tall black serif capitals.
The background is a field of short horizontal blue dashes over white, like handwritten marks, while her collar and shoulders dissolve into a dense cluster of small black and grey butterflies. The mood is graphic and fashion-led: crisp typography and flat cobalt shapes against delicate greyscale drawing, restrained in colour but bold in layout.
Suits a bedroom, dressing area or ladies' powder room, and works in a home office or hallway where a single tall print carries the wall. Pairs with white or pale grey walls, brass or gold hardware, blue and white ceramics, rattan and light timber furniture, and a linen bedhead in soft pink or navy.
