Three small boats sit side by side in calm blue water: one red, one turquoise green and one white. The white boat carries a thin mast that rises almost to the horizon line. Their reflections stretch below them as soft blocks of blue and white, and the paint looks thick and textured, applied in flat knife-like strokes.
Grey and ochre rocks line the water on the left and the right, with a low, dark headland and pale buildings in the distance. In the foreground, a bank of golden yellow and orange grass is dotted with red, pink and pale blue wildflowers. A saturated blue sky fills the top third, with only faint cloud streaks.
