Three tulips stand side by side on long, thin green stems, each at a slightly different height. The left bloom is open wide and star-like, the centre one is a tall cup with pointed petals, and the right one is half open and tilted. The petals fade from soft coral-pink at the edges to cream near the base.
Narrow blade-like leaves fan out from the base of each stem, with fine grass strokes filling the gaps between them. A strip of brown earth runs along the bottom. The background is a mottled, crackled parchment in beige and cream, which gives the soft, faded surface an aged paper texture.
