About Tour Eiffel Paris
The Eiffel Tower is viewed from directly beneath one of its legs, so the lattice ironwork leans back and tapers to the spire near the top edge of the frame. The metal reads almost black-brown in silhouette, with the arch, the first platform and the crossed girders picked out in fine detail. Behind it the sky is treated as a wash of vertical colour: rust orange and gold down the left, yellow-green through the centre, and teal and blue-grey to the right, with drips, scuffs and splatter marks running through it.
The surface has a worn, poster-like finish, with scratches and patchy colour that make the background look weathered rather than smooth. The character is bold and graphic: a familiar landmark treated with unexpected colour, dramatic in scale but relaxed and slightly rough around the edges.
Suits a hallway, entry or stairwell where a tall portrait shape works, and holds its own in a dining room or open living area. The rust, gold and teal sit well with timber furniture, tan leather, black metal frames and white or warm grey walls. Pairs with other travel or city prints.
