About Tower Bridge London

Tower Bridge fills the centre of the frame, seen from the river bank on a flat grey day. The two stone towers rise with pointed turrets and Gothic arches, linked by the high walkway, while the red suspension chains sweep down to the left and right and the red-painted roadway and railings run across the waterline. Beneath the bridge the Thames is a broad band of dark grey-brown, choppy and matt. Behind, low riverside buildings and a moored white vessel sit small against the deck.

The sky and edges carry a heavy mottled texture, like scratched film or aged paper, with brown and cream blotches bleeding into the clouds and the corners darkened. Colour has been pulled back to stone greys and sepia browns, leaving only the bridge's red ironwork saturated.
