A single rose on a long curving stem rises up a tall portrait frame, rendered in the see-through look of an x-ray. The bloom sits in the upper half, tilted slightly away, with layered petals showing as overlapping sheets of grey. Dark veins and ruffled edges catch the eye, and a denser smudge marks the centre where the petals meet.
The stem is the darkest line in the picture and bends gently before splitting into thin side branches. Pale, ghostlike leaves with fine visible veins spread to the left and right, some so faint they almost disappear. Everything sits on a clean white ground in black, charcoal and soft grey, with a small signature in the lower left corner.

The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
