About Trinity Two
A tall red rectangle sits right of centre, outlined in black and filled with layered crimson and scarlet that shows brush drag and patchy underpainting. Two raised leaf shapes in olive and grey-green float one above the other inside it, each scored with a central vein and side ribs. A small pale square is inset at the lower right corner of the panel, and four small black squares step down its left edge. The upper third of the canvas is broken into dark red and black blocks.
The lower two thirds is a mottled gold-ochre field, scrubbed and scratched so paler patches show through, finished with a row of slate-blue squares near the base. Texture is built up in places, giving the leaves and squares a low relief. The painting is calm and graphic, with strong red weight balanced against warm earth tones.
Suits a study, home office or hallway where a single strong colour accent is wanted. The gold-ochre field works with timber desks, leather chairs and cream or clay walls, while the red panel picks up rugs and cushions in burgundy or rust.
