Four tulips stand in a small clear glass jar on a blue windowsill. Two are deep red and bow their heads, one at the top of the frame and one drooping at the left edge. Two are open pale yellow blooms with dark centres, facing the viewer in the lower half. Thin green stems arc between them.
Behind the flowers, a blue-framed window divides the view into panes. Outside, a sunlit lawn rolls away in bright yellow-greens, with shadowed shrubs and slim brown tree trunks. The paint-style surface has flat, smooth brushwork, and the cool blue frame sets off the warm reds and yellows in front.
