A photograph of a bright turquoise lake in a mountain basin, taken in portrait format. Dark evergreen branches frame the left and bottom edges, so the view feels like it is seen through the trees. The water sits calm and opaque, with a band of green meadow and dense conifers along the far shore.
Above the forest, pale scree and rock slopes climb to a small patch of white glacier ice in a notch between two ridges. The peaks are grey and brown, with a rusty tone on the upper right summit. Heavy cloud fills the sky, breaking to a small patch of blue, and patches of sunlight pick out the green hillsides.
