Two tall plant spikes rise from the bottom edge of a plain white background, one slightly shorter on the left and one taller on the right. Each head is made of small overlapping pieces that angle upward from a dark central spine, like the barbs of a feather or a fishbone.
The image looks like an X-ray or light-box photograph. Everything is in soft greys and deep charcoal, with the spines darkest and the outer tips fading to thin, translucent wisps. The long stems narrow to pale grey ribbons that run off the bottom of the frame, leaving generous empty space around the forms. A small handwritten signature sits in the lower right corner.
