Two roses stand on long, thin black stems against a flat khaki-brown background. The larger bloom sits left of centre, drawn in loose ink outlines with cream and white fills and soft grey shading along its right side. A smaller rose is cropped near the top right corner, its petals sketched in the same quick lines.
The stems run down in uneven, dripping strokes of black ink. Across the bottom, a band of pale sand stripes with rough, speckled edges looks like dry brush or screen print texture. A faint signature sits at the lower right. The palette stays quiet: khaki, cream, grey and black, with a loose, sketchbook feel.
