Two white Adirondack chairs sit side by side on a weathered grey timber deck, angled towards the water. The nearest chair is slightly soft in focus, while the second is sharper, which pulls the eye through the frame and gives the photograph a shallow depth of field.
Beyond the deck, green and golden dune grass slopes down to a pale sandbar and a strip of dark blue ocean with small breaking waves on the horizon. Nearly half the portrait frame is clear, graduated blue sky, giving a calm, open and quiet colour palette.
