About Vermillion Landscape I
A square abstract landscape divided roughly in half. The upper portion is a wide, pale sky of soft blue-grey and cream, streaked with loose horizontal sweeps and a warm yellow glow toward the right edge. Below it, a low range of hills sits in flat, layered shapes of slate blue, deep teal and olive, overlapping so the far ridges fade lighter than the dark green scrub in the foreground. Cream and sandy gold patches break the ridgeline where light appears to fall across open ground.
The lower half opens into broad plains of coral, apricot and cream, laid down in long diagonal strokes that pull the eye toward the bottom corners. Small clusters of grey-green and dark olive foliage sit at the left, giving the flat expanse some weight. The character is calm and airy: a warm, simplified view where colour blocks stand in for terrain rather than precise detail, with visible stroke direction and soft edges throughout.
Suits a living room above a low sideboard, a main bedroom over the bedhead, or a home office wall that needs warmth without noise. Works with oatmeal linen, rattan, pale oak and brushed brass, and sits comfortably in beach house and coastal-country interiors. Pair it with a second abstract landscape for a balanced two-panel arrangement. Browse more orange art, green art, multi-coloured art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
