About Voyage
A three-masted clipper sits just right of centre, heeling slightly as it drives through open water. Its cream and pale-gold sails are set on every yard, lit from the left so the canvas edges glow while the hull and rigging stay in warm brown shadow. Below, the sea runs in ranks of emerald and deep turquoise swells, each crest broken into white foam painted with short, loaded strokes. A turquoise sky fills the upper half, scattered with cumulus clouds in white and grey, and a second, smaller vessel sits far off on the right horizon.
The mood is bright and steady rather than stormy: strong daylight, a working ship making good speed, and water with real weight to it.
Suits a living room, hallway or study with timber furniture, navy or sand-toned walls, and brass or leather details. Works above a sideboard or lounge in a coastal or traditional home, and pairs well with charts, globes, model boats or other maritime pictures.
