About Webb Bridge Docklands
The photograph looks along the inside of Webb Bridge at Docklands, where a woven cage of pale timber and steel ribs arches overhead and curves away to the left. Uplighting picks out every beam in warm cream and gold, so the irregular web pattern reads sharply against a deep navy night sky. Below, the decking runs in dark grey-brown boards, and a bold red curved barrier sweeps across the foreground, enclosing a timber bench that glows orange under the lights. Distant city towers show faintly through the lattice on the right.
The character here is graphic and geometric: strong diagonals, a tight colour contrast between red, gold and midnight blue, and a sense of depth pulling the eye down the tunnel.
