A row of tall, narrow houses runs across the top of the picture against a deep blue sky filled with white dots. Each house has its own pattern: red scales, blue window frames, orange shutters, and a pink facade with a grid of coloured squares. Beside them stand round and spiral trees, and large sailboats with striped and patterned sails.
Below the waterline, a green dotted sea is crowded with creatures. A spotted orange octopus reaches across the lower left, a striped seahorse sits in the centre, and a large fish with a patterned body and green face fills the lower right. Small red and orange fish, coral, seaweed and curling teal waves fill the gaps. The flat, outlined style looks like a bright folk art painting, with dense dot work throughout.
