A single white flower with three rounded petals sits on a thin green stem with two small dark green leaves. The stem rises from a tall, slim, dark brown vase with a narrow neck and a swollen belly, which stands in the centre of a portrait-format composition.
Behind the vase the background is divided into soft rectangles of sage green, peach, burnt orange, deep red and muted brown. A dark red square sits directly behind the vase, with a pale green bar below it. The surface looks like brushed paint with gentle, even shading, and the vase has a soft highlight down one side.
