A single white water lily is shown from directly above, filling most of the square. Layers of long, pale petals fan out in rings around a small yellow centre, with the outer petals tipped in soft cream and the inner ones slightly curled.
The background is a smooth, smoky mauve-brown with faint cloudy streaks. A few muted green leaf edges peek out between the petals, and a thin rusty stem curves in at the right edge. The image reads as a soft-toned photograph with gentle light and little contrast.
