Rounded heads of pale pink hydrangea spill across a worn timber ledge, some still in a white glazed pot and others resting on the wood in front. Dark green, pointed leaves with visible veins surround each cluster, and a few deeper mauve blooms sit in shadow at the right and upper centre.
A small paned window at the top left shows a soft blue sky with cloud and a hint of distant trees. Warm light falls across the ledge and the pot, while the plaster wall behind is mottled in muted greys and browns. The finish reads as a classic oil-style still life with soft, blended brushwork.
