The brushwork is thick and loose, in the manner of an impressionist painting. Bright sun hits the white clothing and turns it cream, lilac and pale pink. Behind them, deep blue water breaks into white foam under a thin band of peach sky, while violet shadows pool on the golden sand at their feet.
